An action of the Cavan County Heritage Plan 2006-2011 and the County Cavan Local Biodiversity Action Plan 2009-2014 is to record the biodiversity of County Cavan. This should enable better protection of our wildlife including both flora and fauna.

We are operating recording schemes for the following wildlife:

Squirrel	Swift
Newt	Hedgehog
Botanically rich grassland	Spindle Tree

We would like the public to get involved in the local recording scheme. We want records from all ends of the county and from as many people as possible, young and old.
